Miami Heat stars Chris Bosh, LeBron James rank Chicago Bulls as equals – NBA Update
The Miami Heat and the Chicago Bulls are two of the best teams in the NBA right now, and easily the two best in the Eastern Conference. The Bulls have the edge in terms of current record, while the Heat are the reigning Eastern Conference Champions.
NBA legend and current analyst caused a stir recently by suggesting that the Bulls are indeed better than the Heat. He also backed Chicago to win against the Heat in this year’s playoffs, noting that Miami rely too much on super star LeBron James.
The Heat have reacted to his comments, although in a measured way. Miami superstars have come out and made it clear that they don’t look at the Bulls as a better outfit, but also begrudged them respect, saying they weren’t worse than Miami either.
Barkley had criticized the play of Miami forward Chris Bosh, whom he said didn’t provide them with enough fuel inside the paint, or on the glass. Bosh chose not to react to Barkley’s comments directly, but did speak on the comparison with the Bulls.
Chris was of the view that even if someone though Chicago were better than the Heat, it didn’t really matter until the sides squared off. Only after they meet in the playoffs, could it be clear as to which side is second best.
"Not at all (do we care)," Bosh said Thursday. "People are going to have their opinions, and you can have them. That's great. But you still have to go out there and play the game. It doesn't matter who thinks who is better, who is the underdog, who is the
favourite. You still have to go out there and play the game. And you have to play a series when it's all said and done, so it's a series of games."
Bosh’s views were shared by two times NBA MVP LeBron James, who is a leading candidate for the award again this season. James has been playing at a very high level this season and Charles Barkley had suggested that the player would have to take it up even
more in order to help the Heat win a championship.
James though was confident that his team had all the tools to win, but also said that the Bulls are a very fine outfit, and at the moment it wasn’t possible to judge which side had the edge.
"Honestly, we don't know who has the edge on who right now," James said. "Both teams are just trying to play at a high level and gear yourself towards the playoffs and be consistent.”
In their most recent encounter, the Chicago Bulls handed an overtime defeat to the Miami Heat.
