Miami Heat wait for Dwyane Wade to recover from injury
Miami Heat’s “Big Three” are not “Three” at the moment. The reason behind this is that their shooting guard has suffered an injury.
Heat’s star guard, Dwyane Wade, was badly injured, while playing against the New Jersey Nets. The player got his right thigh bruised in the very first quarter of the game after colliding with Travis Outlaw.
However, he did not stay off the court for long and was back in action in the second half of the game. He finished with 18 points as his team defeated the Nets, 108-94.
Later he started limping and that worried his team. Teammate, LeBron James, who was worried after seeing Wade’s conditon, said, "I just kept asking him when he kept coming in and going out, if he was OK. He knows at this point that he doesn't have to push it. We need him more later than we do now. Dwyane needs to be as close to 100 percent as possible. No one is 100 right now".
The injury started taking its toll and the player had to miss the game against Milwaukee Bucks. It was being said that he was limping after the injury and was not there in his team’s shoot-around on the same day.
The front runner of Miami Heat has been experiencing a lot of pain since the injury. After his team lost to the Bucks, Wade showed his desire of how he could have played the game but he retaliated because he did not want to be held responsible for his team’s lack of defence.
This is a very crucial time for Miami. Wade being severely injured just a few days away from the playoffs makes the team vulnerable to whatever is happening around them. Each and every day holds equal importance for the team. Playoff seeding is crucial and can make a big difference at this level.
No more than four games remain before Miami Heat (54-24) enter the playoffs. They next take on the Charlotte Bobcats. Wade is still not sure if he will play this game or not. This will be the second last home game that the Heat will play before they set off on a road trip against Atlanta Hawks and the Toronto Raptors.
Wade may not be ready for the next game but he is ready for the playoffs for sure. While the team practiced on Thursday, he was talking to reporters about the playoffs. He asked reporters, “How many games? Four? Five? Please bring them on. Let’s get them over with and get to the playoffs. We’re ready”.
Miami Heat is waiting for Wade to recover and are hoping that the player makes an overnight recovery. If he does not make a quick recovery, he will have to be benched for the next game. This does not sound very encouraging for the player, who has an average of 27.5 points per game, making him third in scoring in the league.
