Miami Heat’s Chris Bosh admits that the nerves got the better of him before game-3 against the Boston Celtics
The Miami Heat’s forward Chris Bosh has admitted as he was intimidated by the huge expectations before game-3 against the Boston Celtics on Saturday night. He stated briefly to the media after that particular game was over.
“Given all the elements that were out there last night ... they were so hyped, my emotions got the best of me early on and it kind of dictated what I was doing for the rest of the game. I was not trusting my game; the toughest thing to do in hostile environments is not just to trust your teammates but to trust yourself. Trust things you've been doing all your life. I wasn't relaxing and playing, I play better when I'm just relaxing, I have to take the emotions out and play basketball.”
The Miami Heat visited the TD Garden on Saturday hoping to take a 3-0 lead in the Eastern Conference semi-final series. Although the Heat had the wins behind their back, the Boston Celtics made an excellent comeback and thrashed them 97-81.
Bosh’s was hounded by the Celtics bigs throughout the night and he was unable to post a reasonable reply. Kevin Garnett, who starred the game for the C’s on the offense, was especially effective in hounding Miami’s power forward. Bosh was able to score just six points and five rebounds and this ultimately proved to the difference in the end.
His performance was also affected due to a sore neck. He was not 100 percent going into the game and only looked like a shadow of himself. Bosh’s struggles allowed the Celts to pull one back in the best of seven series.
Chris Bosh is an important player of the Miami Heat and his combination with Dwyane Wade and LeBron James has out-done many in the league and if Miami are to pose a serious challenge on Monday night, Bosh will have to fire on all cylinders.
