Miami Heat’s Dwyane Wade’s best games of the 2010-11 National Basketball Association season – Part 3
February 24 vs. Chicago Bulls
The Miami Heat arrived at the United Centre to take on the streaking Chicago Bulls. The All-Star Dwyane Wade posted another top scoring performance however his super effort was outshined by the invincible Derrick Rose and company in the second half of the
game.
Wade landed a game-high 34 points and gathered 8 rebounds as the Heat lacked support from their star forward Chris Bosh.
After a slow start from Miami, Wade lifted the momentum and scored 16 points in the first two quarters to spearhead the visiting team for a comprehensive 53-44 half-time advantage. Despite a smashing performance in the third period by Dwyane with 10 points,
the Bulls restricted the Heat to 14 points and snatched the lead 71-67 before entering the final quarter. Wade continued the action in the final 12 minutes and the game fell into a tie 89-89 with 36 seconds remaining in the final buzzer. Luol Deng buried a
blistering 3-pointer in the defining moments of the game to break the tie as the Bulls ended the night with a 93-89 win.
February 25 vs. Washington Wizards
At the American Airlines Arena on Friday night, the prolific guard Wade truly had a dominating night with the ball and racked up a game-high 41 points to overcome the Washington Wizards for a brilliant 121-113 victory. It was the Heat’s 10th win
in the last 12 games as Wade led the scoring with his formidable allure.
Miami were trailing by five points with the end of the first quarter when Wade took over for the Heat. He smashed the Wizards with 20 points in the second period to snatch the lead 63-61 as the game progressed into half-time.
Wade’s momentum and his flawless shooting in the last two periods restricted the opposition to strike back as Miami sealed another outstanding victory.
March 25 vs. Philadelphia 76ers
The spirited Wade notched up a double-double with a game-high 39 points and 11 boards to power Miami for a comprehensive 111-99 win at the American Airlines Arena. The Heat took control in the fourth quarter after trailing most of the second half of the
game. The turnovers became the reason for much of their struggle early on.
Miami coach Erik Spoelstra said, "It's really only about us. It seems like a month ago we were in training camp ... We're trying to focus right now on improving ... We started out about as sloppy and uncharacteristic as we can. It was very puzzling with
the turnovers we had in the first half."
Wade was absolutely magnificent in the final 12 minutes and scored 18 points of his 39 to overcome the Heat’s struggle and led the team for an exciting win.
April 1 vs. Minnesota Timberwolves
Wade racked up a game-high 32 points and clutched 5 rebounds to spearhead the Miami Heat for a comprehensive 111-92 win over the lowly Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Centre. The Heat were trailing the Timberwolves going into half-time however, Wade
exploded for 16 points of his 32 in the third period to thrash the Wolves out of the game.
Minnesota’s rebounding machine Kevin Love was restricted to single digits as the Heat out-rebounded the home team 55-39 despite the fact that the Timberwolves are the top team in the league for rebounds.
