Miami Heat’s LeBron James doesn’t rule out sensational return to Cleveland Cavaliers - NBA Update
LeBron James enraged all his Cleveland Cavaliers fans by moving to Miami Heat in 2010. It was a huge setback for the team as he was the face of the franchise for 7 years and all their success during that period was, largely, because of the “King James”.
The player though said he left in order to give himself a shot at winning a NBA World Championship title.
Anyway, it has been two years now and the Cavs finally look like they have got this whole episode out of their mind. However, LeBron has ignited old flames yet again by hinting that he could possibly come back to the team in coming years.
LeBron was practicing at Cleveland’s gym for Miami’s scrimmage against the Cavs on Thursday night when he was asked about his return to the team, where he started his career. He took a while to reply, but then added.
"I don't know. I think it would be great," he said. "It would be fun to play in front of these fans again. I had a lot fun times in my seven years here. You can't predict the future and hopefully I continue to stay healthy. I'm here as a Miami Heat player,
and I'm happy where I am now, but I don't rule that out in no sense. And if I decide to come back, hopefully the fans will accept me."
James departure to the Heat gave birth to a rift between him and the Cavs owner Dan Gilbert, who criticized LeBron viciously for this move and also called him out over LeBron’s character. The two of them have not spoken since then.
James, when was asked to shed light on this, added that he had put all that behind him and holds no grudges against Dan.
"I don't hold grudges," he said. "I hold them a little bit, but I don't hold them that long. He said what he said out of anger and he would probably want to take that back”
James will be playing only his third game in Cleveland in two years on Friday night, since his departure from the Cavs. On both previous occasions he was welcomed with massive jeers from the crowd. He is hoping that trend will soon come to an end.
