Miami Heat’s guard Dwyane Wade works out late: NBA News
Although Miami Heat have put the NBA regular season best Chicago Bulls on the brink of elimination in the Eastern Conference Finals, their shooting guard Dwyane Wade was in no mood to relent and practised late hours during a practice
session.
Late night trainings are common among the NBA players, as many are of the view that these important sessions helps them a lot during the games. Many top players like Kobe Bryant, Derrick Rose, Kevin Durant and Dirk Nowitzki often
workout late after their team training sessions and this is considered as one of the major reason behind their success.
LeBron James also went through a rigorous training session late in the night before game-5 against the Boston Celtics in the second-round of the playoffs. And it seems it is now Wade’s turn to do it.
Wade made it quite clear that he was not doing the drills because he was frustrated with his offensive game. Rather, he stressed that he wants to leave no stone turned in a an effort to finish off the Bulls on their own backyard.
Wade said, “I don’t have to be frustrated with my offensive game because I have a team, I have help. So, [if] you [asked] me this last year, yes, I would have been frustrated at this point. But now I’m just trying to do what I
can to make sure this team wins.”
While Wade was going through his late workout session, Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks was being praised from thousands in Dallas and the NBA world as he once again initiated a late charge and crushed the Oklahoma City Thunder
with his exceptional game.
Wade was shocked to see the result of the Western Conference Finals game-5 because when he was leaving for the practice, the Thunder were in command with 15-point lead over the Dallas Mavericks. However, things were totally different
when he returned from his workout as the Mavs defeated the Thunder in the overtime.
“I was like, ‘What?’ ” Wade said after seeing the score. “So, I was here long enough to see a total different outcome of the game when I got off the court.”
Wade’s shooting from the field has been a major concern in the NBA Finals thanks to pin tight Chicago defence. The Bulls backcourt has not allowed the sharp shooting guard to make his signature runs down the lane and has also been
effective in congesting his space. Wade had a miserable game-4 in which he failed to make an impact in second half and went only 5-of-14. However, Wade made two shots and three big blocks in the overtime to gain some momentum and the Heat will be hoping that
he steps it up in potentially the last game that the Heat will play against an Eastern Conference opponent this season.
