Miami Hurricanes’ Jacory Harris out for two weeks
Miami Hurricanes quarterback Jacory Harris has been ruled out for at least two weeks with a concussion.
Harris was injured in the second quarter of his team’s game against the Virginia Cavaliers on 30 October.
The Hurricanes coaching staff was hoping that Harris would be able to make it into the line-up before their week 10 match-up against the Maryland Terrapins.
Now it appears as though the junior may not be able to make it back until their game against the Virginia Tech Hokies on 20 November.
Unfortunately, the Hurricanes are entering the most important segment of their schedule with four games against conference opponents over the next four weeks. At the moment, Miami is only two wins out of top spot in the Atlantic Coast Conference’s Coastal
Division. The next four games are must wins if they hope qualify for the ACC championship game.
The task is made even more difficult, as the Hurricanes quarterback corps have been decimated by injury and the job will now fall to former fourth-stringer Stephen Morris.
Moreover, Morris will have to do without the club’s top rusher in Damien Berry, who has been ruled out of the week 10 match-up with an unspecified injury.
The Hurricanes season has been up-and-down to this point. They currently boast a 5-3 record and 3-2 against conference opponents and has spent the year in-and-out of the AP Top 25. The team has not been able to find a proper replacement for last year’s quarterback
Tim Tebow.
The struggles on offence have been well documented with the club ranked 49th in the country in passing yards per game and 42nd in rushing yards per game.
So far this season, Harris has managed 1,646 yards and 14 touchdowns, while Morris has tallied 162 yard and two touchdowns.
