Miami Marlins’ Giancarlo Stanton will play rehab game on Wednesday for Class A Jupiter-MLB Update
As per the reports, the Miami Marlins’ outfielder Giancarlo Stanton will be starting the rehab assignment on Wednesday for the Class A Jupiter. Stanton is confident that he will be back in the season on August 10.
He has gone through surgery in his right knee. Therefore, the management cannot bring him in the season without having the right fielder play rehab games.
Stanton was a part of the Home Run Derby crew, which was played a day before the All-Star Game this year. He had to pull out after it was known that he has a severe injury creeping in that will not allow him to perform at his potential.
Furthermore, he was also included in the All-Star Game roster.
However, the officials later on had announced his replacement as he failed to recover in time. That was one of the most embarrassing moments of his life.
Finding his name on the ASG roster at such a young age was a dream come true scenario for him. Stanton was not the only one who was ecstatic. The fact he was the only player from the Marlins who had to represent them in the ASG festivities made him an apple
in the eye of the fans.
Unfortunately, he had not played the game.
Right now, Stanton has a special job to perform on return. With the Marlins sliding toward the slump, he will be using his slugging power to maximum to help the team win a reasonable number of games this year.
Meanwhile, Stanton speaks about his desire to return at the earliest. He has learned from hard time and wants to come out stronger. He has talked about how painful it is to sit out while being unable to shape the things the way one wants.
"It's not fun to just sit there helpless," Stanton said. "You still pick up some things, learn from the down times we are going through, that's all you can do. I'm eager to get back, I'll be ready."
Though Stanton targets August 10 for comeback, there has no timeline given officially as yet. It will be interesting to see when the management calls him back in the season and whether the officials agree with what Stanton aims or not.
