Miami Marlins’ Mike Redmond talks about Christmas - MLB Update
Manager for Miami Marlins, Mike Redmond, has described how he used to celebrate Christmas in his childhood.
Taking about fulfilling the rituals and visiting places at the time of Christmas while he was a kid, he said those are the most memorable part of his life.
Mike Redmond has succeeded Ozzie Guillen as new skipper of the Marlins. He has a huge responsibility on his shoulders to lead the young team.
Considering the fact that the available players are largely unreliable, his task looks even harder.
While his predecessor had the services of the likes of Jose Reyes and Mark Buehrle, he hardly has any star player to look up to for exceptional shows on the roster.
Other than Giancarlo Stanton, the whole team consists of unproven individuals that are least likely to take the club forward.
Interestingly, even Redmond is not that experienced as manager. Just like the majority of the players in the Marlins, he has yet to prove his credentials as a seasoned skipper.
Regardless of what future holds, he is busy enjoying Christmas with his family.
As a lover of following the traditions, Redmond is trying to make sure his sons will also keep them in the mind, whenever religious events come by in the future.
While for some, Christmas is a time to make fun, for the likes of Redmond, it is an occasion to fulfil rituals meticulously.
He still remembers distinctively when he, along with his family, would show up before Santa Claus during childhood.
Besides, receiving gifts and buying them for loved ones is an amazing part of the Christmas for Redmond.
“Christmas is my favorite holiday. I have memories of the family being together. I know that as a kid, there was that anticipation of Christmas Day and opening the gifts. It was always an exciting time. We were always together. My dad has passed now, but
I will always remember how excited I was with the big buildup and going to see Santa Claus,” Redmond said.
Redmond will be hoping that the new-year spells beginning of an outstanding career as manager for him.
It will be interesting to see how he helps the Marlins achieve success during the upcoming season.
