Miami Marlins’ Ozzie Guillen aims to comeback in 2013 despite failures in current season-MLB Update
The current dismal performance of the Miami Marlins makes experts believe that the next year will see a lot of changes in the staff of the management. Some of the players that have disappointed the club this year have already been axed through trades.
However, the president of baseball operations Larry Beinfest and the manager Ozzie Guillen have not yet been considered by the team. There is every reason to doubt their presence in the club next year.
The season began with the bulk of the spotlight on two things. One was the star-studded roster of the Marlins and second was the inauguration of their expensive New Marlins ballpark.
In turn the expectations of the Marlins' fans rose immensely. Anything below winning the Division title this year was not acceptable forget about considering it as a possible reality panning out ahead.
However, when the season progressed and the flurry of ordinary performances came off from the Marlins, the fans grew angry. Every series the Marlins played ended up in their failure more often than not.
Their manager Guillen has accepted the responsibility now.
In light of the fact that the team under him has not flourished, there is a high probability that he will be ousted after this season. Although the owner Jeffrey Loria has not commented anything regarding this, once the season ends one can expect a declaration
spelling the sacking of Guillen.
Against all odds, Guillen is hopeful that he will start the 2013 season with the same club. His contract with the Marlins is until 2015 but it is unlikely that he will stay with the team for such a long time.
"At this moment everybody in the organization ought to be up in the air," Guillen said. "It's not up to me. If it's up to me, I'd love to be here."
Guillen has time and again confessed that they have not played up to their potential. He admits he has failed to take the team to a respectable position in the season.
At the same time he is conscious that he may not be in the same club next year despite wishing to be there. It will be interesting to see what the Marlins decided regarding Guillen for the upcoming regular season.
