Miami Marlins beat San Francisco Giants 6-3 at the AT&T Park- MLB News
Miami Marlins seem to be making a turnaround from being the bottom of the table team in the Major League Baseball as they beat the heavy weights, San Francisco Giants, 6-3 at their Home, the AT &T Park on Friday, June 21, 2013.
The Giants had gone in front with a 3-1 lead by the fifth innings as they scored a single run in three different innings. The lone run by the Marlins at that point came by courtesy of a solo home-run of Logan Morrison on the top
of the second.
Logan tripled in the top of the sixth to drive in another run before Marcell Ozuna got RBI single to get the teams back on level terms.
However, it was in the eighth innings when the Marlins really drove the nail in the head. Ozuna got an RBI single followed by another RBI single by Greg Dobbs. The third run in the innings came from a fielding error
on the part of the Giants. The home team was unable to score again.
Marlins manager, Mike Redmond, was pleased by the performance of the team, especially by the likes of Marcell Ozuna. He was happy that Marcell was getting over his struggles and now looking to be a consistent performer.
"He continues to grind and have good at-bats," Redmond said. "He's had some big hits for us. I know that coming into this series that he'd been struggling. After that big hit last night, he looked really good at the plate."
Ricky Nolasco was the starting pitcher who surrendered three runs in nearly six innings. The win was recorded against the name of A.J. Ramos who threw a three up three down seventh innings.
The 26-year-old reliever recorded his first win of the Major League career and was excited about it. He said that it was a childhood dream that finally became a reality.
"Obviously, it's something that I've wanted as a young kid, to get a Major League win," Ramos said. "Now that it's here, it's a good feeling.”
The Marlins at the moment have 24-49 record which is far from reasonable. They will need to win more games like this to have a decent record when the season concludes.
