Miami Marlins humiliated by St. Louis Cardinals 2-5 – MLB Recap
The Miami Marlins humiliated by the St. Louis Cardinals 2-5 in the second game of their three-match regular series encounter on Tuesday, June 26 at Marlins Park in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
Yadier Molina and Kyle Lohse helped the Cardinals power past the Marlins in great manner.
Molina’s three RBIs and Lohse’s great pitching proved wonderful for last year’s World Series Champions as they ousted the Marlins with some decisive game-play.
"I'm just trying to hit the ball, that's it, seeing the ball and trying to hit the ball. It's that simple." Molina said with confidence and explained about his performance.
Later the Cardinals’ manager Mike Matheny commented on Molina’s great contribution which also gave them a wonderful win, “He continues to just improve, which seems hard for a guy -- and I've never been shy in saying, I think he is the best in the game, He
just doesn't rest on that. If there's something in the top level he's just working until he figures it out. You just can't say enough. We're spoiled around here."
Matheny added, "It's nice when these guys come out with that kind of aggressiveness, Fortunately, that was enough because that's all we had."
Lohse tossed 7.1 innings and received only two runs on four hits. He gave two earned runs and struck-out four opposing batters.
Marlins’ pitcher Carlos Zambrano however, could not play well and lost the game for his team.
He tossed 6.2 innings and received five runs on seven hits as he was only able to strike-out five Cardinals’ batters on his 3.71 ERA.
The game was played on high pace as the Cardinals went early into lead in the very first innings. They scored five quick runs and later kept the Marlins under pressure until last innings’ play.
The Marlins on the other hand, scored only two runs and eventually lost the game with a three run deficit.
Marlins are playing under new manager this season and at the moment they are certainly having some difficult times to achieve consistent results.
They are at the bottom of the National League East Division with 35-40 win-loss and .467 winning percentage.
