Miami Marlins left fielder Logan Morrison doubtful to return this season – MLB News
The Miami Marlins’ left fielder Logan Morrison has recently spoken in the media and told the reporters about his potential comeback. Saying with slight pessimism, Morrison was slight doubtful on his return in this ongoing Major League season.
“If you’re doing surgery and there’s swelling in the knee, it makes it hard, It creates more scar tissue. He wants to wait and let that go down and get it as healthy as possible before doing surgery,” Morrison said.
He further stated in the media that he does not expect to be playing any time soon as his injury needs another surgery. Earlier on July 29, Morrison was injured due to inflammation of right knee and immediately placed on disabled list. While later it was
revealed that he will need a potential surgery before coming onto the field.
Shortly after he discussed with orthopaedic surgeon Richard Stedman in Colorado regarding the chances he still has to play again in the season, the Marlins issued a statement which states that Morrison’s right knee is in critical situation and a potential
surgery is much needed at the moment.
"He definitely think I'm going to need surgery, Barring a miracle, I'll have to have surgery again." said Morrison about his doctor.
He added, "No comment at all, From what I was told the surgery was done fine. It is what it is. I don't want to think about that."
Dr. Richard Stedman has also conveyed to the Marlins and Morrison that his recovery will take some four to six months while his rehabilitation process certainly will be a smooth ride for him.
Logan Morrison is a talented player and before getting injured, he was playing quite nicely and performing with big heart. He was settling in the season with .230 hitting, eleven homers, 36 RBIs and .308 OBP, but due to this untimely injury, his 2012 season
is over.
On the other hand, Morrison’s two-year career has also showed his hidden extraordinary skills. In a short period, Morrison’s career stats of .250 hitting, 36 homers, 126 RBIs and .339 OBP shows that he certainly is a gifted player and the Marlins’ surely
will get benefit from his game in the coming years to come.
