Miami Marlins’ new ballpark a graveyard for hitters as anticipated before 2012 season - MLB

After all the theories presented, Miami Marlins’ first regular season game against St. Louis Cardinals proves the ballpark as being a paradise for pitchers. Most of the hits generated fell into the gloves that otherwise were to become straight home-runs.
Hanley Ramirez was disappointed after hitting powerfully to the left and yet not earning a rightful home-run.
Already Marlins’ offence is not great and with the vast ballpark adding to their woes, they will be struggling big time in the games ahead.
Task for pitchers becomes easier at a time when the roof is open. Even the best of the hitters will take something out of the ordinary to happen for hitting home-runs.
Best approach being put forward is the classic run manufacturing techniques. Instead of going hard on the throws and ending up being caught up, hitting a line drive can be a safer option.
Exactly the same thing Jose Reyes followed in the game and results came off immediately, as he turned out to be the only player who managed the first hit for the Marlins after most of the hitters remained hitless.
Marlins’ left fielder Logan Morrison admitted that the new ballpark is a h**l for batters especially when the roof is opened.
“To center and right center, it’s a little ridiculous, especially with the roof open and the windows open [as it was for the opener],” Morrison said. “If [Stanton] says he gets a ball and it doesn’t go out, then it’s the only park in baseball that happens
at. I would recommend hitting more line drives, I guess.”
Even Cardinals’ first baseman Lance Berkman is convinced that ballpark will be shortened.
According to him, Marlins will soon be shortening the dimensions otherwise he implies it will be tantamount to grossly unfair with hitters' talent.
“If they don’t move the fences in after this year, I’d be surprised,” Berkman said. “And I’m going two years as the over-under on that.”
In any case, Marlins cannot have many excuses for their 1-4 loss to Cardinals as they were unable to adjust to the conditions properly. After all, on the same plate Cardinals scored four runs.
There is another possibility underway that if the roof is closed, who knows what scenario will be reversed then. If that is going to be the case, the game will benefit immensely and the variety that this will add to the play will actually make the baseball
more interesting.
As few more games are played on the ballpark, it will be clearer how it actually behaves.
