Miami Marlins outclass New York Mets 11-6 – MLB news
Miami Marlins defeated the New York Mets 11-6 in the third game of their three-match regular series encounter on Sunday, June 02 at Marlins Park in Miami.
Marlins entire batting lineup rattled the Mets pitchers and won the game with quite ease. Not only batters, the Marlins pitchers also performed tremendously and helped their team win the game as well as the series.
“The last three games have been pretty fun to watch, It's a different atmosphere and definitely guys turned it up the last three days and hopefully we can keep it going,” Miami Marlins manager Mike Redmond said.
Marlins upfront hitters Juan Pierre and Ed Lucas started well as the combined scored five runs. Both showed tremendous plays and helped their team win with quite ease.
Right fielder Marcell Ozuna also played well on the plate. He scored two runs on three hits and also ran for four important RBIs on his five at bats.
“I'm feeling great, Everything is going good. Whenever I cross the line, I am trying to help the team,” Ozuna said after the game. “That was certainly not the Matt Harvey that we know and accustomed to seeing, He had to work very, very hard even to get five
innings in.”
Collins added, “After we got the lead, I think when they got it right back, it was kind of deflating part of the game.”
Chris Coghlan contributed his one score and four hits in his team’s win. He also ran for two RBIs and showed great commitment by achieving consistent .441 slugging percentage.
On the other hand, the Marlins’ pitchers pitched extremely well against the Mets hard hitters. From their starter to closer, the Marlins carefully handled the situation and won the game with a brilliant accomplishment.
Starter Kevin Slowey pitched 4.1 innings and allowed six run on six hits. He also allowed six earned runs on his 4.16 ERA but still he was managed to strike out three Mets hitters. Rest of the Marlins pitchers remained scoreless and proved too good for the
Mets.
