Miami Marlins’ prospect Christian Yelich may make it to Major League soon - MLB Update
First-round pick of Miami Marlins' 2010 draft, Christian Yelich continues to impress the experts with his strong Major League credentials in the Arizona Fall League.
The speed with which he is traversing the stages of his transition to a Big League player, it is not unrealistic to expect that he will be playing for the Marlins next year.
Ever since his inclusion in the Minor League of the Marlins, he has been prolific at the plate. He can slam home-runs and more importantly can continue doing so regularly.
Against the backdrop of a mediocre offence of the Marlins, it can be predicted that he joins the club soon.
While he is too young at the moment, he is capable of performing better than most of the batters in the present line-up of Miami.
The Marlins finished at the bottom of the Division table in the last season, which reflects their lack of talent and the absence of planning in every department of the play from the officials.
Their players, who had to work under a fickle manager namely Ozzie Guillen, struggled to live up to the requirements of the team.
From the bullpen to the rotation, the offence to the defence, the season was an epic resemblance of a disastrous performance coming off from every department of the game in a team.
In-short, the Marlins will be looking to introduce sweeping changes on their roster in order to achieve something substantial next year. For this, the offseason provides them an ideal time to brainstorm and decide about the new players to be acquired.
Yelich can be one of the players fitting in their plans right away. The fact he is a home-grown talent as opposed to the one obtained through a deal makes him an inexpensive option.
The prospect is excited about the knowledge that he may be joining the Marlins within a few years. He enjoys the sight of watching the soon to be introduced Major League players working hard in the Minors to get there at the earliest.
“You’ve got some older guys who’ve been around in Double A, Triple A,” Yelich said. “They’re knocking on the door to the big leagues so it’s kind of cool to see what they do to prepare for the game. Going out there and playing against the best makes you
better. I’m using this to get experience and see what I’ll be going up against next year, and the years after.”
At the moment, the goal before Yelich is keep the momentum going and deliver his best possible performances as and when he gets the opportunities.
Only this way he can earn the nod of the officials that are observing him and will prove crucial to his inclusion in the Major League roster.
