Miami Marlins’ second baseman Chris Coghlan feels better after second knee surgery – MLB News
Last season when Miami Marlins second baseman Chris Coghlan was injured hurting his left knee, the whole management was quite in shock as whether he will be okay for the next Major League season or not.
But lately his second knee surgery once again has put the Marlins on back foot while he himself has just mentioned in the media as he is feeling better and hoping he will again potentially be making a comeback before of next season starts.
Coghlan said, “I used to hear that and when I was kid and thought it was just people saying it because of money. You don't get points for going out there and playing injured. It's about producing. That's my fault and I have to take responsibility for going out there. Now I'm in the position I'm in because of that. My mentality was to go out there. I thought I was helping the team the best by being out there. My performance took a hit after the first month and that's why I'm in this situation."
Coghlan is a good player and playing in the Marlins since 2009, but from all those years, he has been pretty consistent and never showed any loop holes in his game despite playing down in the rotation.
Even in the last season he played carrying a pain in his knee. Some doctors who have briefly checked him when they stated in the media that these are the after affects of that very knee problems he was faced during the whole 2011 Major League season. Overall his performance still was great as he achieved consistent hitting average of .230.
In the meanwhile, the Marlins are now sitting at a comfortable place as they are getting ready to put in a tremendous performance during the Spring Training session. Some experts do believe as the next season will be a convincing one for the Marlins. The rotation policy that they lately introduced in the organisation is now doing well for them. Currently in the 2012 Major League Spring Training, the entire Marlins’ roster is practicing hard and playing aggressively before the regular season.
