Miami Marlins send Hanley Ramirez to Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for Scott McGough - MLB Update
The Miami Marlins trade Hanley Ramirez and Randy Choate to the Los Angeles Dodgers in return for Nathan Eovaldi and Scott McGough. Knowing that it is going to be hard for them to improve in the Division table, the Marlins have resorted to planning for the
future now.
Two pitchers that they have included through the trade are young and have potential to help the club immensely in the upcoming seasons.
Meanwhile, the trade of Ramirez has confirmed those rumours that were originated after a story published in a major newspaper. The story had claimed that the Marlins’ negotiations for trading their third-baseman are underway and soon an announcement in this
regard will be made public.
However, as Ramirez was inquired about this, he had denied any such development, accusing reporters of fabricating news for the sake of making it while disregarding facts in the process.
Therefore, one can believe that something was happening back then which was not in the knowledge of Ramirez.
Right now, Ramirez is playing for the Dodgers. As per the reports, he will be starting at his earlier position which is shortstop as opposed to the one that he held while being in the Marlins.
Meanwhile, Ramirez confesses that he has not met the expectations this year.
Far from raising eyebrows against the Marlins’ management, he accepts the reality and makes a resolve to move forward from now onward.
Furthermore, he believes that he is passing through one of the most uncomfortable moments of his life.
“What can I say? I didn’t do what they expected me to do,” Ramirez said. “I think that’s what happened in my opinion. I don’t think they just gave up. I didn’t do what I was supposed to do on the field. It’s one of the hardest days in my life for me and
my family. The fans, they supported me here. I’ve been here seven years and I know we don’t have a championship. It didn’t happen. We tried hard.”
As Ramirez joins the Dodgers now, he will be trying to contribute offensively and become an important part of their line-up.
