Miami Marlins starting pitcher Josh Johnson to begin throwing next week – MLB News
The Miami Marlins' starting pitcher Josh Johnson is feeling pretty comfortable after a year-long rest due to his disturbing shoulder while he is now planning to throw in the coming week with full energy. He is getting ready to train hard before his team goes into a potential title race.
Johnson had troubles with shoulder discomfort last year since May but now reacting to his potential comeback for the next season and speaking in the media with quite confidence.
Recently, Johnson said, “I’m feeling really good. I’ll throw two this next week and then three every week from there on in. Everything is going according to plan. I’ve been working hard. It has been going really well, I have a physical therapist here in Vegas who said the shoulder is stronger than it has ever been.”
He added, “Yes, definitely, definitely. I’m taking a little extra time this year staying in Vegas for a little while longer than I usually do but I’ve got a good situation here, But I’m definitely getting ready to get down to Jupiter. I’m really, really excited.”
Johnson also told the media that he is pretty sure of his potential comeback next season. He said he knows how competitive the 2012 season will be and for better results, he should be working hard before the season starts in three months’ time.
Johnson, who is a key player for the Marlins, has six years of exceptional professional experience. Coming from relatively low last season with 1.64 ERA, 3-1 win-loss record, 56 strike-outs and 0.98 WHIP, Johnson will be aiming high for the upcoming competition in MLB.
On contrary to Johnson’s arrival, the overall situation of Marlins’ roster is also looking good. They are also playing under a new manager Ozzie Guillen, who previously worked with the Chicago White Sox. His presence will certainly put-up a positive impact on the entire Marlins’ roster. Last season, the Marlins did not do well losing many games down the stretch in the regular season. But for this season, they have all prepared to unleash in order to achieve some consistent results next season.
