Manchester City defender Micah Richards expects his City team-mate Carlos Tevez to stay at the club, at least till the end of the current season. However, the Argentine striker’s future with City is under serious doubt as he has already submitted a transfer
request.
Richards is hopeful that Tevez will finish the season at the club and will be essential in City’s chances of qualifying for the Champions League. He said, “I'm sure we can keep Carlos until the end of the season at least. We're doing well in the league and
we finished top of our group in Europe. It's going well for us and he's a big part of what we're trying to do.”
Manager Roberto http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 has expressed his disappointment on Tevez’s request to leave the club. The demand for a new club, Mancini states, was uncalled for, as the club currently lies 3rd in the Premier League and has topped their group in the
Europa League.
On the importance of Tevez to the club, the Italian said, “Carlos is our player and I hope that he continues to play with us and I hope that he continues to score for us. This is an important season for us. We can change the history of the club. We have
this group and Carlos is an important player for us.”
Earlier this week, the striker issued a statement detailing as to why he wants to quit the club. The statement read, “My relationship with certain executives and individuals at the club has broken down and is now beyond repair. I do not wish to expand on
this at this stage. They know, because I have told them. I wish to clarify that I have no personal issue with the manager Roberto Mancini.”
In the extensive statement, Tevez continued by thanking the supporters for welcoming him at the club. He also praised the owner of the club, Sheik Mansour, saying he has been “very generous.”
Tevez is City’s top scorer this season with 10 goals. He has shown desire to move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 or Italy but the striker has not yet received any offers. Mancini, however, is set to have talks with the Argentine; and is optimistic of persuading him to stay at
the club.
