Richards has come out and said that the 30th April, tie between Manchester United and Manchester City has gained even more significance in light of the recent results in the English Premier League as the derby will
be the title decider between the two teams...
The title race in the English Premier League took a dramatic turn on the weekend as Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson’s men leapfrogged Manchester City at the top of the table courtesy of their 2-0 win over West Bromwich Albion.
United were helped by City’s one nil loss to Swansea City on Sunday as they usurped the two point advantage that their rivals had over them and turned it into a one point lead at the top of the table. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 scored twice
for United at Old Trafford whilst Micah Richards’ team mates were left shocked by a Luke Moore header that gave Swansea a win at their home stadium.
With just ten matches left in the Premier League, things are now heating up as City have a tough round of fixtures coming up which includes an away visit to the Emirates stadium and a home tie against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 before playing Stoke
at the Britannia stadium as well. Richards insists that his team are still in the running even though United are now at the top of the table.
He said, “That's the most disappointing thing [being knocked off the top]. Having been first for so long, we've now slipped down to second. It's not over but with United it's always going to be hard to pip them. This result has
made that game at our place on April 30 even more massive now.”
He added, “I don't really want to talk about that because I think we were poor. It was a poor performance by all the lads, we didn't turn up and we shouldn't be needing last-gasp efforts to try and save a point with the amount
of quality we've got in our team. We just didn't turn up, didn't work hard, and didn’t play our usual football. There's no excuses. That's our second loss in four days and we need to go back to the drawing board, see where we're going wrong because it's just
not good enough.”
