The Palermo striker believes that the Elephants’ achievements in the season are over stated, and insists that the superior Rosaneri will come hard on the opposition in the upcoming league match.
Palermo’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabrizio-Miccoli-c13236 has delivered a linguistic punch to Catania ahead of the Serie A game, and insists that the opposition has been making too much noise, while their achievements remains but humble.
Vincenzo Montella’s side have already equalled their last year’s benchmark for league total, and are placed in the top-half of the league in Serie A standings. The team’s performances took them within touching distance of the UEFA Champions League qualification
spot, however, their inconsistency saw them slip towards the bottom half of the table.
The Rosanero talisman admitted to the quality of the opposition, and stated that the coach has led them to great things. However, he stated that Catania has been boasting about their alleged superiority over Rosanero, which he believes holds little ground.
The striker insisted that Palermo have been in contention of a UEFA Champions League spot for the last few years unlike their opponents. He stated that they maybe a few points ahead of them in the standings, but that does not give them the right to belittle
a club like the Rosanero.
While talking to the press, the former Juventus striker said:
“In five years, I've never said Palermo has always finished ahead of them by 15 or 20 points or the fact that we were in Rome last year, not to mention that for the last few years Palermo has been in contention for Europe and they have not.”
Fabrizio Miccoli stated that the mood before the match has been unexpectedly tense, and stated that the time calls for the team to step up to the challenge of the derby. The aggressor stated that a win will not only take them away from the relegation zone,
but also boost their confidence manifold.
“We have two days to isolate ourselves from everything and focus for Saturday. It will be a different derby and we will have different moods.” He added.
The Parma striker has scored 12 goals and assisted another 12 for his team in the ongoing season.
