Michael Ballack admits he could leave Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the season
Bayer Leverkusen midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Ballack-c25270 has admitted that he could be on his way out of the club when the season ends as his current contract with the club expires in the summer. He insisted that at this point of time there
are few chances that he would renew his deal with the Bundesliga outfit because of the limited first team opportunities.
Michael Ballack joined Bayer Leverkusen last summer when his contract with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 ended and signed a two-year deal with the German outfit. His time at the club has been plagued with injuries and the player has had limited first
team opportunities thus far.
Ballack claimed that at this point of time he has no intentions to negotiate a new deal with the club and is almost certain that this could be his last campaign with Bayer Leverkusen.
However, the player played down rumours that he would be retiring at the end of the season, claiming that he wants to play for another two years as he feels that he can still perform at the highest level.
“At this moment in time I have little thoughts about continuing with Bayer Leverkusen and extending my outrunning contract. Right now I feel this is my final campaign in the colours of Bayer Leverkusen. I still have the desire
to continue my career,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The midfielder’s comments were confirmed by Leverkusen Sporting Director Rudi Voller. The chief claimed that the club also sees an end to the player’s time when his contract ends in the summer next year and the player would be
allowed to leave as the club will not offer him a new contract.
“Right in this moment we are expecting to see the end come this summer,” the former German international added.
Michael Ballack has so far played for the likes of FC Kaiserslautern, Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich and Chelsea. The player also has 98 caps for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 and has scored an impressive 42 times for the country. He played his last
international against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 in the final of the Euro 2008 which his side lost.
