The Bayer Leverkusen midfielder criticised Uli Hoeness for blocking his move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 after the Euro 2004.
Michael Ballack has revealed that he is still annoyed at Bayern Munich for blocking his move to the Catalan giants in 2004. He insisted that the transfer would have been a big step in his career considering the emergence of Barcelona
as the best team in Europe, in recent years. The player refused to sign a new deal at Bayern after that and joined Chelsea on a free transfer two years later.
The former Chelsea star stated that a transfer was agreed between the two clubs before the European Championships in 2004. He claimed that Bayern Munich blocked the move after the competition ended and Uli Hoeness told him that
he is going nowhere.
The midfielder accused the Munich giants of breaking their promise and blamed the Bayern officials of being unprofessional in their approach.
“Yes, it's a shame that in 2004 I could not complete my transfer. We had reached an agreement with the club and we had the approval of Uli Hoeness but I was ultimately thwarted in signing that summer. After Euro 2004 Hoeness told
me that I was not transferable and prevented my move,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
Ballack added that he still regrets the move did not happen as he missed the chance of playing with some of the best players in the world. He stated that joining the pitch with the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296, Xavi Hernandez and Andres
Iniesta would have been special.
“Of course, I was angry and disappointed that Bayern had given the OK to my departure to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604, which was all agreed. Sometimes I think of what it would have been like to play with Messi, Xavi, Iniesta and Barca's other stars,”
he concluded.

before returning to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 in the summer of 2010.
