Michael Ballack confident of Chelsea’s progress in the Champions league - UCL news

The veteran German international was talking after his side’s 2-1 win over Andre Villas-Boas' men on Wednesday, November 23. With the win, Leverkusen avenged the defeat they were given at Stamford Bridge early in the competition.
Ballack was instrumental on Wednesday and guided his team past his former teammates in an enthralling encounter at BayArena. The Werkself were looking down the barrel after Didier Drogba’s 48th minute strike, before a simple equaliser from Eren

However, the former Blues player was confident of Chelsea’s success against Valencia despite the recent slump in form. He strongly reckoned that Chelsea are a tough unit and would definitely get back on the right track before their last group game next month.
While talking to reporters after the game, the veteran midfielder further stated:
"We knew before the game they were in a difficult moment but it's only when you play against a team on the pitch that you see what is really happening. You get a clearer picture than when you just see a team on television. We could feel it on the pitch every
minute, especially at the beginning of the match, that they were not as strong as they normally are.”
"It is still in their hands, but it is not the best moment for them. It's difficult for me to say the reasons. I'm not in the dressing room so I'm not that close to what is going on at the moment.” Ballack concluded.
