The midfielder has admitted that he will not sign an extension to his current contract and that he will leave at the end of the season.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Ballack-c25270 has confirmed his departure from Bayer Leverkusen at the end of this campaign, following differences with the club chairman, Wolfgang Holzhauser. The former Chelsea man accused Holzhauser of negative attitude towards
him, but is willing to honour his current deal and give his all until the end of the season.
The former German international stated that he expected a better treatment from his former club after rejoining in 2010. However, the 35-year-old has now made up his mind to part ways with Werkself possibly in search of a new journey
abroad. Ballack’s current contract is set to expire at the end of this season, and he has denied any chance of signing a new deal with the club.
While talking to sports publication, L’ Equipe, the veteran midfielder further added:
“This is an embarrassing failure. His attitude disappoints me. I expected much more from him. In a few weeks this chapter will be closed, because obviously I will not renew. I want to honour my contract and leave with my head high.”
On the other hand, the former Bayern Munich star insisted to continue his career beyond this season and is waiting for some new offers. The player brushed aside rumours of retirement and wants to ply his trade possibly in the Major
League Soccer or in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Shanghai-Shenhua-c40497.
“I believe I have demonstrated a good level of performance during the first half of the season. I feel too good to retire. I physically feel sharp,” Ballack concluded.
The Chinese club have shown interest in Ballack’s acquisition after signing his former Chelsea teammate, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044,
by the end of this campaign.
Ballack has so far made 31 league appearances for Werkself, netting two goals in the process. The midfielder’s second stint with the Leverkusen outfit has been rather unconvincing which is why he has been restricted to a bench
role recently.
