Michael Beasley and Anthony Tolliver express optimism about the NBA Lockout
Minnesota Timberwolves’ combo forward Michael Beasley joined forces with his teammates to host a Charity All-Star game at the Osseo High School gym on Friday and provided the fans an eventful night of basketball.
Hundreds of fans were present to witness the action; they have been missing for a while now.
Apart from raising handful money for the charity, the 22-year-old Beasley dedicated the night to the fans of the city as they are the ones who are suffering the most because of the frustrating NBA Lockout.
"This is all about the fans. The lockout is very frustrating, and the fans are the main ones suffering. I'm just doing my part to bring basketball back to Minnesota." Beasley said.
Among the Minnesota Timberwolves players in the attendance, four-year veteran Anthony Tolliver was also present who talked plenty on the Lockout before the game started. Timberwolves’ representative of the player association, Tolliver
showed optimism on the prevailing situation in the league and stated that owners and players will have enough of the work stoppage soon to work on getting back to business.
"I always try to stay optimistic. Right now, there's no meetings scheduled. It's kind of hard to be optimistic about that right now. Hopefully both sides realize that there's too much money to be lost just by sitting around. We've
got to get back on the court."
Anthony Tolliver believes that both the parties have started to feel the pressure now as a lot of money is lost every time we losses a game. Sitting idle and doing nothing about it will only make the situation even worse. Considering
this, Tolliver is hopeful that some progress will be seen from owners and players association pretty soon to remove the dark clouds from the league.
Minnesota Timberwolves key player Michael Beasley also backed the optimism of his teammate Anthony Tolliver and rejected the notion that a complete season will go down to drain as a result of the ongoing lockout. In fact, Beasley
feels really good at the moment the way things have come up lately.
“Honestly, I feel really good about it, given the last three days. I know it hasn't been the prettiest, but I feel good. I feel like losing the NBA season is kind of far-fetched."
It’s been more than three months now since NBA locked out its players upon the expiration of the previous Collective Bargaining Agreement which enforced the cancellation of the first two weeks of regular season games. However,
it’s a good sign that the players have started to show some optimism which brings in some hope of progress in the coming meetings.
