Michael Bisping, Dana White believe Chael Sonnen should have lost – UFC news
Michael Bisping who fought Chael Sonnen on Saturday on UFC on Fox 2 along with Dana White believes that Chael Sonnen was the one who lost the fight.
The bout that took place at the United Center in Chicago came with a lot more surprises than asked for. Chael Sonnen, who was highly confident before the fight, accepted that for a while he thought Bisping had won.
In his post-fight conference, Chael Sonnen said, “The only round I knew I had was the third. I thought I might have had one of the first two, but I didn’t know I had it. That was my goal, was to win a controversial split decision. So I was a little disappointed
that it was unanimous.”
Revealing the little conversation between both the fighters, Chael asserted, “Yeah, I did say that to him. I said, ‘Hey, what do you think?’ And he said, ‘I don’t know, I think I might have gotten the first two.’ I said, ‘Yeah, you might be right.’”
However, clearing his stance, Sonnen further added that even though he thought Bisping had won the first two, he is not of the view that the judges were being biased. He further added that the fight was a close one and that he thinks Bisping had won a round
or two.
The match ended with a 30-27, 29-28, 29-28 defeat for Bisping and victory for Sonnen which definitely was something that made Sonnen smile.
Now, Sonnen will be moving towards facing the middleweight champion Anderson Silva for a title fight soon. Bisping, on the other hand, is still hopeful that he can get to Silva soon this year and he is quite reluctant to have a rematch with Sonnen.
Even though Bisping lost, after this fight he proved his mettle and many of his haters turned into his lovers for the skills he displayed against Sonnen.
Before the fight, it was being considered that Sonnen will brutally beat Bisping since Bisping is more of a technical fighter while Sonnen is an aggressive attacker.
However, the fight showed both the men trying hard to beat the other without either of them falling prey to opponent’s tricks.
