Michael Bisping: Brian Stann is a big puncher – UFC News
Michael Bisping believes Brian Stann, his future opponent at UFC 152, does not have a great reputation at all. Bisping expressed his dismay over Brian Stann’s recent comments, suggesting that the Briton fighter is a low profile fighter. Bisping believes
Stann is the same too.
“Stann has said he 'wants to test my chin'. A nice line from Captain Cliché there but, you know what, of course he does. He's a big puncher and his only chance of winning this is landing some bombs and knocking me out,” said Bisping in an interview to Yahoo
Sports.
“But I'm going to test his chin, too, and I'm a lot faster and more accurate than he is. To be honest, I have a boatload more strikes available to me and I think Stann's chin is a lot more suspect than mine,” he added.
Bisping then recalled his defeat at the hands of Dan Henderson. According to Bisping, Henderson is one of the best fighters in the Ultimate Fighting Championship and so losing to the best is not as disgraceful as losing to a mediocre fighter like Steve Cantwell,
to whom Stann lost.
However, Bisping asserted that he is in no way trying to degrade or underestimate Brian Stann. He added that Stann is surely among the best middleweights in the industry now. According to Bisping, Stann is great at knocking out and he would try to knock
him out too.
Bisping adds that he has skills in all the areas of fighting, whether it is knocking out or making your opponents submit.
Bisping is currently looking forward to a fight against middleweight champion Anderson Silva. The only hurdle in his way is Brian Stann. If Bisping is able to defeat Stann, he can score a shot at Silva. According to Bisping, he has been promised by UFC matchmakers
for a shot at Silva, only if he can win against Stann in an dominant manner.
On the other hand, even Stann is hungry for the title. He believes Bisping has not built enough reputation to get fans excited for a title match against Silva.
