Michael Bisping: Chris Weidman should nail me to prove he is the number one contender – UFC News
Michael Bisping, the former Cage Warriors Light heavyweight champion, thumbed down the buzz regarding Chris Weidman being the number one contender. According to Bisping, he is ready to take on and nail Weidman to prove he is the rightful contender.
Bisping, also known as ‘The Count’, is not happy with the way Chris Weidman is being treated, as the number one contender precisely. The Brit has openly challenged Chris and all other brawlers to a fight in order to decide who the number one contender for
Anderson Silva’s title is.
Michael is dubbed as the number four middleweight in UFC. Chris, 28, recently grabbed most probably the biggest win of his career by obliterating Mark Munoz, UFC’s number three middleweight.
Weidman’s win over world number three started rumours that Dana most probably will give a chance to the All American Chris to take on Anderson Silva. All those rumours were eradicated when White officially announced that Chris might need to collide with
one or two opponents before taking on the Spider.
Everything was settled but Michael was not happy with the hype. Bisping, 33, bashed all three of his probable opponents Chris, Brian Stann, and Belcher and boasted that he can take all of them in just one night.
Bisping stated, “I’m a professional fighter and I’ve not been busy enough lately to be honest so, I will happily fight all three of them - Stann, Weidman and Belcher can all have it. I've got no problem fighting and beating all three of them, either on three
consecutive cards or all on one night if they want.”
Michael who last fought Chael Sonnen in a title eliminator bout, while making his point of view clear, commented that Chris was looking good in the octagon but if people are denoting him as the number one contender than he should collide with Weidman to
prove that wrong.
The British proud stated, “Weidman looked great last night. But no1 contender? If that’s the case I want to fight him and prove I’m the number 1 contender. Let’s do it.”
By the looks of what Michael has said about his three arch rivals, one can easily expect that the Brit will have to take on at least one man before colliding with Anderson Silva and most probably it would be Chris Weidman.
