Michael Bisping believes he is better than Chael Sonnen – UFC News
English UFC artist Michael Bisping has put his name forward as a contender for UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva. According to Bisping, he could have given tougher time to Silva in the ring than what Sonnen did.
“It's easy to say 'take Anderson Silva down. Chael is an amazing wrestler - he went to the Olympics I think. Not everybody can do that,” said Bisping, who lost to Sonnen last year.
Sonnen and Bisping are very different fighters. Sonnen is an aggressive and attacking fighter while Bisping is a technical martial artist.
“I'm not that level of wrestler. I can wrestle a little bit, but I'm not Chael Sonnen. But, I can kickbox [much] better than Chael Sonnen can. I won't get knocked out in the second round like Chael Sonnen did. That's a fact,” added Bisping.
It should be noted here that Chael Sonnen lost to Anderson Silva via TKO in the second round of their encounter that took place past Saturday.
According to Bisping, anyone who bet against Silva is a ‘fool’. He praised Silva by calling him the best fighter out there. Bisping regarded Silva as ‘amazing’ and personally appreciated his achievements in the division.
When asked if he wants to fight Silva, Bisping replied, “Yes, I want to fight him. Yes, I want to get paid for a title shot. Yes, I want the main event. I want all that. For me, personally, for my mind and soul, I want to fight the guy just to know how I
would do.”
After Sonnen’s loss to Silva this Saturday, Bisping might get a chance to face the middleweight champion. After being defeated by Sonnen last year, Bisping finally finds his way to Silva. Had Sonnen won, even then Bisping was the next person for the organisation.
Throughout his career, Bisping has proven himself as one of the best UFC mixed martial arts fighters. He has gone head to head with the most aggressive UFC fighter and has emerged victorious. His match against Sonnen last year was a tough one, even though
he lost he made sure to make his presence count.
