Michael Bisping believes his fight against Brian Stann will be breathtaking – UFC News
Michael Bisping is making headlines these days, whether it is about challenging Anderson Silva or talking about his upcoming main event fight. The Briton fighter claimed that his showdown against Brian Stann at UFC 152 would be the event of the season.
“In my opinion, and I think in most people's, this is the main event,” said Bisping at the post-fight press conference of UFC 149.
He added, “This is the real main event. Two big, hard hitting guys. No one cares about little flyweights; this is the real main event, this is the real big fight. Tune in cause someone's getting knocked out.”
UFC 152 will be held on September 22 in Toronto, Canada. The event is being headlined by Joseph Benavidez vs. Demetrious Johnson. The bout between the two will be for the first ever UFC flyweight champion.
Bisping has always been a confident participant. Despite his loss to Chael Sonnen last year, the Briton fighter believes he is the only one who can defeat UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.
Chael Sonnen defeated Bisping last year to be the number one contender for a title match against Anderson Silva. Unfortunately, Sonnen could not defeat Silva at UFC 148, that was held a couple of weeks earlier.
Hitting when the iron is hot, Michael Bisping came up challenging Anderson Silva. However, UFC President Dana White rejected notions of a possible bout between Silva and Bisping, saying the Briton needs to prove his mettle by fighting some of the best in
the division.
As of now, Bisping is ready to go head to head against Stann. He believes this is his chance to make it big and to claim a match against Anderson.
If Bisping defeats Stann, he might be close to a title shot against Silva. However, it should be noted here that Stann is not the top contender for the title shot. Probably, Bisping will have to go through Chael Sonnen once again to claim the shot. If this
happens, Bisping will find himself in the same mess as before, since Sonnen has an edge over him, which he proved last year.
