Michael Bisping believes his fight against Brian Stann will be epic – UFC News
British fighter Michael Bisping believes his showdown against Brian Stann will be an epic one and fans would enjoy it. In an interview to MMA Fight Corner, Bisping revealed that he feels the fight has already garnered a lot of attention.
“It'll attract a lot of attention and I feel it's a good opponent to put me in title contention,” said Bisping.
“That's what I want. I want the fights that'll grant me a title shot. I think Brian Stann is definitely a name that could do that, as long as I get a good win and I win impressively,” he added.
“I think I'm right up there. The middleweight division is as stacked as it's ever been. Anderson's beat out a lot of the division. I think the only contenders left that he hasn't fought are myself and Chris Weidman.”
“I think Chris Weidman, whilst being a fantastic fighter, still needs to generate a little more hype.”
Bisping is currently hoping to score a title shot at UFC middleweight titlist Anderson Silva. The Brit knows the only way to do so is to grab an impressive win against Stann.
In addition, the Brit also knows that there are a couple of middleweights in the line who are looking forward to the title shot. Therefore, he admits, he needs to prove he is above others if he wants to get to Silva.
In the interview, Bisping also spoke of fighters using TRT in the sport. He strictly opposed the idea of fighters enhancing their performance by using drugs. According to Bisping, it is utter ‘nonsense’ to fight people who are on drugs.
Bisping’s outrage regarding TRT’s came in light of Dana White’s recent statement favouring TRTs.
It should be noted here that Bisping already lost a chance to score a shot at Silva last year when he lost to ‘The American Gangster’ Chael Sonnen.
Now, Bisping has another chance to fight the champion and he does not want to miss it. Therefore, he is training hard to beat Brian Stann in the cage in an impressive manner to get what he wants.
