Michael Bisping eyes next fight in May – UFC News
Michael Bisping is eager to get in the ring once again to prove his mettle. He wants to go head to head with Silva-Sonnen II winner in May. According to his recent revelations, Bisping believes he defeated Sonnen two rounds to one. He further added that
even though he thinks the decision was not fair, he is not dismantled over losing via unanimous decision to Chael at UFC on FOX 2.
Bisping further added that he knows he will get the title shot soon and that by putting up a good fight against Sonnen he has already proved himself.
Here is what he had to say, “I don't think it was a step backward. Anything, I cemented myself as one of the top contenders in the division. I want to fight again soon. I'm aching to fight."
Chael Sonnen is scheduled to fight middleweight champion Anderson Silva at UFC 147 in June. Chael Sonnen won the title shot after defeating Michael Bisping at UFC on FOX 2. This way, Bisping has enough time to prepare himself to face the winner of the combat
between Sonnen and Silva.
On this, Bisping iterated, “I was just going back and forth with (UFC president) Dana (White) last night, so I'm not sure where we're at, but I'm hoping that (with) one more good win over a good opponent, I should fight the winner of Chael and Anderson later
in the year.”
Bisping also expressed his disappointment over not being able to fight earlier. He said all the top fighters are currently booked that he is not really sure whom to fight. He further said that he is confident the UFC organisation will come up with something
decent for him if not the best.
Before and after his fight against Sonnen, Bisping was widely praised for his performance. It was a general perception that Sonnen will knockout Bisping easily but Bisping had put up a great fight, which shocked everyone. Even Sonnen was a bit confused after
the fight before the results were being announced. In a post fight interview, Sonnen accepted that for a while he thought Bisping had won.
