Michael Bisping laughs off at Chris Weidman’s comments – UFC News
Michael Bisping is scheduled to face Brian Stann at UFC 152 in September. The Brit mixed martial artist is hopeful of getting a match against UFC Middleweight champion Anderson Silva upon defeating Stann. However, Bisping has another hurdle in his way and
that is Chris Weidman, who is eyeing a showdown against the champion too.
Last week, Weidman came up with a couple of negative marks for Bisping ‘The Count’. This week, it is Bisping’s turn who caught up with Weidman calling him a ‘Wiesel’.
“Chris the Wiesel Weidman saying I fold under pressure. Hahahahaha I needed a good laugh this morning,” said Bisping on Weidman’s statement of calling him a fighter who cannot take pressure.
Here is what Weidman said last week, “And I am not knocking him - I think he’s a great fighter, I really do - but I question his mentality against top guys when the pressure is on. Which is pretty much what everyone says about him. He has had chances to
fight for the title twice now and he doesn’t come through when the pressure is on.”
Bisping is currently looking forward to his fight against Stann. The Briton confessed that UFC officials have already promised him a match against Anderson Silva. However, he did admit that since nothing is in black and white, it is not official yet.
On the other hand, Weidman has already placed a challenged to Silva. Unfortunately, Silva’s camp has declined Weidman’s challenge, saying they are looking for a better foe. Yet, Weidman is hopeful of getting the encounter sooner or later.
Similarly, even Bisping is looking forward to face Silva. Silva’s camp believes Bisping and Weidman are kids to the Brazilian Spider, who has taken on bigger and better fighters throughout his career.
Silva’s recent show against Chael Sonnen proved that the former is the best mixed martial artist in the world. Considering the fact that he has already taken down Sonnen, there is no reason for Silva to take on fighters who are lower in stature than Sonnen.
Silva is currently looking forward a foe who is an equal for him, and he thinks Bisping and Weidman are not.
