Michael Bisping reluctant to make a comeback for the title shot – UFC news
Even though Michael Bisping was highly appreciated for his skills and resistance by his opponent and analysts, he still seems unsatisfied after being defeated by Chael Sonnen through a split decision.
Before the fight, there were doubts about Bisping’s capabilities on taking on tough fighters like Sonnen, since he has fought his way up against less ferocious ones.
However, after the fight, even his opponent Chael Sonnen who claimed that Bisping is overrated agreed that he has the potential to take on Anderson Silva if he gets the chance.
Chael Sonnen and Michael Bisping went head to head with each other in the co-main event of UFC on Fox 2. The winner of the fight was to get a title shot against Silva, and Sonnen grabbed it. The vent which took place in the United Center in Chicago, Illinois
saw Michael Bisping’s new role as an aggressive fighter.
Bisping is widely known as the silent player who looks out for his opponents’ weaknesses to technically dismantle them. However, this time Michael proved critics wrong and made his fans proud by offering a much different approach, even though he lost.
In a post-fight interview, Bisping asserted, “Yeah, absolutely. Tonight didn't go my way, everyone knows that. As I said earlier, I feel I gave a good account of myself. Chael's widely regarded as number two and, although I didn't get the victory tonight,
I feel like I got something of a more victory -- although moral victories suck. But, yeah, I'm going nowhere. I've been doing this for a long, long time and I intend on doing it for a h**l of a lot longer. I'm only getting better.”
Even Sonnen accepted the fact that Bisping played a different game and he was surprised with it. He further added that he did not expect such an attacking game from Bisping since it is not his style.
After this fight, Bisping has proved that he is among the best middleweights in town right now and that he is getting better with every fight. He is reluctant to have a shot with Silva who is the current UFC middleweight champion.
