Michael Bisping rises against Brian Stann – UFC News
While Jon Jones vs. Vitor Belfort ended as expected, the fight between Briton fighter Michael Bisping and American mixed martial artist Brian Stann was an upset, at least for Stann. Most fans, fellow fighters and analysts had rated the fight for Stann but
Michael Bisping was the man who emerged victorious, shocking everyone in the arena.
Bisping was able to defeat Stann via unanimous decision. He deserved the victory as he edged Stann successfully. Throughout the fight, Bisping took Stann down thrice, mostly with his left jabs. The fight was an exciting one as Bisping, who was being deemed
as an arrogant and overrated fighter, proved his mettle.
After the fight, when asked about his win over Stann and his ambition to score a title shot at middleweight champion Anderson Silva, Bisping answered, “I’m not the most talented person in the world, but I’m hungry, I want it,” Bisping said. “And that overpowers
anything. My desire to be the world champion isn’t going away. Owners of the organization, c’mon, hook a brother up.”
“I think I have more a well-round skill set.”
Bisping has repeatedly said that he is neither a knockout specialist nor a submission specialist, but he is all-rounder in the cage. After three hard fought rounds, Bisping was able to collect the victory. Without any doubts, he was the better man in the
cage.
On the other hand, Stann, who was the crowd favourite, gave in his best but was unable to stop Bisping. Overall, Bisping was impressive but he still made certain blunders that could have cost him the fight. His jabs were powerful, which became the main reason
of Stann’s defeat.
For now, Bisping believes he did what he was supposed to do and now it is time for him to get a shot. Prior to the fight, Bisping asserted in several interviews that he has been promised a title shot by UFC officials if he defeats Stann in a dominating manner.
Since Bisping achieved his goal, he is now eager to hear back from the officials.
During the same event, Jon Jones defeated Vitor Belfort to defend his title successfully.
