Michael Bisping says Anderson Silva looks beatable – UFC News
Michael Bisping, the former Cage Warriors light heavyweight champion, is eyeing Anderson Silva rigorously. In a recent media interaction, the Brit remarked that Silva is a mortal, adding that he has discovered some significant holes in the champion’s brawling
style.
Bisping has been waiting for a title shot for almost a year or two and it seems as he is just one obstacle away from the realisation of his dream. Michael is currently scheduled to collide with Brian Stann, former World Extreme Cagefighting light heavyweight
champion.
The duo will co-headline UFC 152 pay-per-view which will be televised live from Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Canada on September 22, 2012. The showdown will be headlined by highly anticipated Flyweight championship bout between Joseph Benavidez and Demetrious
Johnson.
Michael while sharing his thoughts about the upcoming bout and his future ventures commented that he had been waiting for a shot at Anderson Silva’s title for almost a year, adding that he is the one who deserves a shot more than anybody else.
Also known as ‘The Count’, by ‘anyone’ Bisping referred to Hector Lombard, the man who recently made his UFC debut against Tim Boetsch and lost the bout via split decision. Before the UFC 149 event, Lombard was pompously portrayed as a lethal middleweight
who can, if not pin, give at least a tough time to Silva.
Dana’s lofty claims were corroborated by the Cuban’s intimidating 25-bout win streak. With the current loss, Michael’s prediction that Hector is not a worthy number one contender has come true.
Michael stated, “I’ve been told if I beat him -- and beat him well -- I’ll get a title shot. But I haven’t gotten it in writing, so it probably doesn’t mean anything.” When asked about Hector taking on Anderson, the Count stated, “I think it will be a terrible
matchup for Hector Lombard. He’ll never get near him.”
Bisping also explained as to how he feels about Silva’s brawling style. The 33-year-old commented, “Every time I watch him fight, I think he always looks mortal if you will. He always looks beatable. That’s the good thing about a champion: they find a way
to win. Regardless of how bad the fight goes, how it ends is the important thing.”
The aforementioned thoughts seem almost the same as that uttered by Chael Sonnen before he collided with Silva in a rematch just to lose it via TKO. Michael’s upcoming bout will seal the Briton’s fate and if he grabs a win, no one can stop Bisping from taking
on Silva.
