Michael Bisping shows unethical signs to crowd, almost loses sponsor – UFC news
Michael Bisping, the man who will face Chael Sonnen tomorrow, should put some reins over his tongue and especially body language since recently he came close to lose his main sponsor when he made unethical “finger signs” in the weigh-in gathering for Saturday’s
‘UFC on Fox 2’ co-main event.
According to the details forwarded, the weigh-in ceremony on Friday was in progress when Chael’s supporters and fans started booing Bisping who deliberately responded the crowd by finger signs.
Later on, MMA Elite, Bisping’s sponsor tweeted that they are ashamed at what their patronised Briton has done in front of the crowd.
Michael Bisping and Chael Sonnen are scheduled to take on each other in UFC on Fox 2: Evans versus Davis pay-per-view. The special edition which will witness the epic bout normally denoted as a brawl between a man and a boy, is meant to decide as to who
will become the number one contender to take on current light heavyweight champion Jon Jones.
The main event is backed up by Bisping-Sonnen clash, a skirmish that recently got intense and heated up. Bisping and Sonnen on Thursday in the press conference threw intense one-liners at each other but at the end of the day, it was Bisping who was reported
by all and sundry as the guy overshadowing Sonnen in a cool manner.
On Friday, during the weigh-ins, it seemed that Michael Bisping, infamous as The Count, lost his entire cool and lashed out at his haters. Though he didn’t say much but his signs were enough to portray his anguished and mad feelings. MMA Elite, who also
sponsors Quinton Jackson and Muhammad Lawal, was criticised for taking such a harsh and abrupt decision.
The reason put forth by critics was simple that when MMA Elite can support men who have a controversial resume like Lawal and Jackson then why weed out Bisping for an action that was not of a grave nature. The harsh and prompt decision by MMA Elite was later
on taken back by their concerned authorities.
After the letting go tweet of Bisping’s sponsor, MMA Elite afterwards posted a series of messages on their twitter account and clarified the whole scenario by removing the mist off the matter. MMA Elite tweeted, “I must humbly say that i jumped the gun on
Michael Bisping. I just spoke to him and he truly is a gentleman. What i was concerned about..... Is not what he is truly about. Although I do not endorse the finger, his intentions are not of bad intent but a persona. After speaking to him you cant help but
like this man. We will continue to stand behind him!”
The scenario is now clear that MMA Elite took the decision in haste but at the same time the brawlers all around the world will take Bisping as an example and will try their level best to evade such controversies.
