Michael Bisping strictly against the usage of TRT in UFC – UFC News
British mixed martial artist Michael Bisping is strictly against the usage of TRT in the sport. Following Dana White’s recent statement supporting performance enhancing drugs, Bisping has taken a firm stance against it.
“"I think it's absolute nonsense, rubbish, bulls***,” said Bisping in an interview with Mauro Ranallo on The MMA Show, transcribed by MMAmania.com, who feels absolutely cheated if a fighter is on drugs while he is fighting him.
“Listen, we all get old, we all grow up, you know? At some point, as you start getting older, your balls don't work as well and you don't make as much testosterone, but, that's life and you deal with it. A guy that is 40-years old doesn't make as much testosterone
as a 21-year old so he gets an exemption certificate to say, 'So now we will give him as much testosterone as a 21-year old,’” he added.
Bisping has always been the type of fighter who would go ahead and say whatever he wants to, whether someone likes it or not.
When asked about him, Bisping said, “Well, what about me, I'm 33 (years of age), I'm not making the same amount as a 21-year old, but I make more than a 40-year old.”
“Where do we draw the line? It's nonsense. Listen, nature determines that and I don't think we should interfere with that. I think it's cheating very, very well, it's dressed up.”
According to Bisping, it is unfair for others to fight fighters who are on drugs.
It should be noted here that recently a lot of fighters have got their licenses revoked due to the usage of performance enhancing drugs. President of UFC Dana White, considering the amount of fighters on drugs, believes there is no way to stop it and so
others should accept the fact that it is there.
White’s recent statement claimed that he is good with the usage of TRT but the fighter using it is responsible for the hazards it could create.
However, many analysts and fighters believe White’s statement in itself is promoting TRTs, instead of putting an end to them.
