Michael Bisping vs Jason Miller – MMA Preview: TUF 14
The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) will host its finale of the 14th edition of the show on December 3, 2011. The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada will be the venue where the Middleweight bout between British mixed martial
arts (MMA) fighter, Michael Bisping will face American fighter Jason Miller.
Both fighters would be in high spirits for their bout as they have been on a winning streak in the MMA division. Miller, nicknamed Mayhem, will enter the fight after winning his last two bouts. He defeated Tim Stout in April 2010
at the Strikeforce event via technical knockout with his punches. He later beat Kazushi Sakuraba at the Dream 16 event held in Japan in September 2010.
On the other hand, Bisping, nicknamed The Mayhem, will be coming to Nevada with three wins. He won against Dan Miller at UFC 114 in May 2010, then he defeated Yoshihiro Akiyama at UFC 120 in October 2010 and then beat Jorge Rivera
at UFC 127 in February 2011.
Both fighters will be looking to get an early advantage by putting their opponent down. The two fighters are equally successful in their takedowns as Bisping has a 33% takedown success rate while Miller has a 32% rate. Miller would
try to use his submission moves over Bisping. In terms of success rate, Miller has been 51% successful with his submission moves as compared to Bisping’s 16%.
The British fighter would have some difficulty in applying his submission moves. Bisping, however, leads Miller with his striking rate as he has a 51% success rate while Miller has only been 18% successful with his striking capabilities.
Bisping has won 22 fights, lost 3 and none ended in a draw. Miller, on the other hand, won 24 fights, lost 7 and with zero draws. Miller has a higher number of wins that would be a motivating factor for him as he takes the octagonal
fighting ring on December 3. But Miller has lost more matches than Bisping, which could haunt Miller and could become a shadow that might hover on his mind.
Neither of the two fighters would remain in the corner nor would they lose their vertical base at any point of the fight. Miller would keep away from Bisping’s punches and knee shots that have given the British fighter knockout
wins in the past. Similarly, Bisping would try to avoid Miller’s guillotine choke and the arm triangle choke for Miller can use them viscously. Their fight at the TUF 14 event will be a brawl which either could win.
