Michael Cammalleri of Montreal Canadiens and Calgary Flames looking to fight back with strong season
Michael Cammalleri, a professional ice hockey player, who plays as a forward in National Hockey League (NHL), would be looking to put his past few season’s record behind and make a strong statement by showing great performance.
The 30-year-old has not been able to give a very special performance in the last two years or so. He has been playing for Montreal Canadiens and Calgary Flames in last few years and both teams have not been fully satisfied by him.
The Richmond Hill, Ontario resident has also been affected by injuries which did not let him play many games in both seasons. Injuries allowed him to play just 38 games in the 2010-2011 season, which meant that he missed half of the season. 2011-2012 season
was even worse for him as he could play just 28 games in the whole regular season.
In Toronto, Cammalleri admitted in front of media that last few seasons have been very tough for him and he would be looking to improve his game. His aim is leave the previous seasons behind and show a better performance by playing well, as he said,
"I'll probably tell you that every year until I hang 'em up, but it's been a couple of tough years for me, as far as my expectations of myself and my performance. I had a lot going on, but I'm looking forward -- should we be playing -- to be playing well”.
The left winger also told that he is very excited about this whole thing. And he talked about the training camp and the conditions. The 5-foot-9, 185 pounder also told about the good feeling that he is having while taking shots and the sight the of playing
pitch as he added,
"It's a pretty intense training camp, so it gives you a good gauge where you're at conditioning-wise, where you're at skill set-wise going into NHL training camp. I feel good where I'm at, feel good about things like how the puck's coming off (my stick when
I shoot), how I'm seeing the game, seeing the ice”.
Cammalleri’s best time in the NHL surely was with the side where he made debut, Los Angeles Kings and he would be looking to repeat it again.
