Manchester United midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Carrick-c25282 has admitted that he is disappointed with the draw against Chelsea, as he believes the Red Devils could have easily won the game.
United were trailing to Chelsea by three goals to nil in the second half of the game, but the team then went on to turn on their ‘a’ game.
The Red Devils got back in the game after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 score from two spot kicks and with just a few minutes left on the board, Javier Hernandez headed in United’s third goal of the game, which drew the game level.
Despite United being down by three goals, the form that they showed to get back in the game made it look like they were going to go on and win the match.
However, that wasn’t the case, as the referee blew the final whistle to signal the end of the game.
When talking about the game, a very disappointed Carrick is quoted to have said: "We were slightly disappointed in the end.”
"Obviously, when you're 3-0 down and have your backs against the wall, if someone offers you a point then you'll be happy with that but getting a third goal with a fair bit of the game to go, we fancied ourselves to go on and win it.
"We probably looked like the likelier team to do it. They had a good free-kick but it's a strange feeling in many ways, it was an up and down afternoon and in the end, a point is a point and we can take an awful lot from that game.”
Carrick then went on to reveal that this comeback against Chelsea was more than likely to give the Red Devils a massive confidence boost as they look to head into the climax of the current Premier League season.
Michael Carrick has gone on to be one of United’s most consistent performers in recent weeks and his performances have really helped the team’s midfield to come together.
If Carrick, along with the rest of the United squad keep playing the way they did in the second half against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, they could easily give Manchester City a run for their money, on the way to the Premier League crown.
