Michael Carrick praises Manchester United’s strong squad – English Premier League
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Carrick-c25282 has come out and praised Manchester United’s strong squad in his recent interview to the media, the Manchester United midfielder was a regular starter for United last season in the English Premier League as well
as the UEFA Champions League but this season the Englishman has found it hard to retain a place in the Red Devils’ starting XI due to the amount of quality within the Manchester United ranks.
 Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786
in their last Premier League outing as Sir Alex Ferguson’s men defeated the Blues by three goals to one, courtesy of a brilliant goals by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736.
Before their win against Chelsea, United had put http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 to the sword as they defeated the Gunners by a score line of 8-2. Carrick wasn’t in the starting line up for United’s wins against Chelsea and Arsenal as Thomas Cleverley
and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Darren-Fletcher-c10361 was given the nod against Chelsea.
Speaking on the situation at Old Trafford in light of the youth coming through from the Manchester United academy, Carrick spoke to the media as he said, “That’s just how it is. The squad is so strong it has tended to be the younger
lads that have played in recent weeks and they’ve done really well. The team changed for Benfica but the experience that came in was something we have not seen for a while. We are well aware of what Leeds means. [It’s a big game] because of the fans and the
rivalry over the years. I am sure the manager will pick a strong team. “
Carrick will be hoping that he gets to start against Leeds on Tuesday night but Sir Alex Ferguson would also be wary of their Yorkshire rivals given that Leeds United knocked Manchester United out of the F.A Cup by inflicting an
embarrassing 1-0 defeat on the Red Devils 18 months ago. Carrick spoke about that surprising defeat to Leeds United as he said, “That was a bad day for us. But that’s gone now. We’re looking forward to going there this time. I’m guessing it will be a full
house. It will be a nice hot atmosphere.”
Sir Alex Ferguson might go with a blend of youth and experience for United’s away trip to Elland Road but one thing is for sure, that the encounter between Leeds United and Manchester United has all the makings of a classic.
