Michael Clark vs. Bahodir Mamadjonov set for this Thursday – Boxing News
Michael Clark, Former WBO world title challenger, will be facing Bahodir Mamadjonov today, March 1, 2012. Michael, also known as ‘Cold Blood’, will be in the ring with Bahodir in a 140-pound WBC USNBC title eliminator at the Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio.
Michael Clark currently holds 42 wins and 6 losses with him, whereas Bahodir holds eight wins and no losses. Bahodir Mamadjonov is an unbeaten fighter which gives him the edge, however his inexperience can be his weakness against his highly experienced opponent. Troy Speakman is promoting the card along with the Arnold Schwarzenegger Sports Festival. The festival will start on March 1 and carry on until March 4.
In his last nine fights, Clark has won eight and lost one. This bout is being held in his hometown, which makes him extremely confident of winning. On the other hand, the Uzbek fighter Mamadjonov looks disturbed, however he is sure-footed that he will prolong his unbeaten streak. Mamadjonov’s last fight was against Archie Ray Marquez, which the former won. It should be noted here that the winner of today’s bout would be the man to face Robert Frankel, WBC USNBC champion.
Michael Clark vs. Bahodir Mamadjonov headlines the event. Some other fights of the event that are on the undercard include John L Smith vs. Jason Massie, Armando Ancona vs. Levi Bowling and Morgan Fitch vs. Ramone Barber. Jason will face Smith in a six round bout, Armando will face Levi in a four round bout and Morgan will face Ramone in a four round bout as well.
Michael ‘Cold Blood’ Clark started has twice won the IBC lightweight title and once the NABF lightweight. He has been a challenger for the WBO title once. Clark was the man to volunteer as captain of the Gold Team on ESPN’s reality show Contender Season 2. On the same show, he was the first man from his team to fight. He faced Cornelius Bundrage as his opponent in a four round bout. Unfortunately, Michael could not win and the match was closed with Bundrage winning the fifth round by majority.
