Michael Clarke Faces Arm Twisting by Australian Media
The Australian media has gone berserk after their home side lost to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 in a way, which the Southern Hemisphere natives are not used to. The Australians lost from a winning position after almost two decades in that particular
match.
Ever since 1999; the Australians have dominated the world of cricket and losing had almost become an unfamiliar site for them, but all that seems to be changing as the mighty Australians have lost six consecutive international
outings in the recent months.
The Australian media, after a very long time, is now firing all its guns at its national side, and the main target is none other than the captain in the making Michael http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120. It is ironic that when sides are winning news of rifts
among the players never emerge in the media, but perhaps the Australian media is no different with the rest of the world.
Just as we see the Indian, Pakistani or the English media running chaotic headlines when their national sides are on the losing end, similarly it seems that the Australian media has run its patience out and is now reporting rifts
within the Australian squad.
News coming from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 is that some players are not happy with the way things are going under the reign of Michael Clarke. There are also some suggestions that Clarke might not be the right man to take over as the permanent
captain once the current ODI and Test captain Ricky Ponting retires from International cricket.
The name of Western Australia’s captain Marcus North has been circulating in different media as the next Test Captain of the national side. Marcus (right-handed batsman and right-arm off-break bowler) made his Test Debut on 26th February
2009, against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757. He scored his first Test hundred in his first Test as well.
However, Marcus laughed off the rumours of him leading the national squad and said that he does not intend to lead the Test side; Marcus candidly made it clear that it is Michael Clarke who is supposed to be the next Aussie captain
after Ricky Ponting bids farewell to international cricket.
North, brushed aside rumours of differences within the team and was blunt in saying that Australia are a pretty tight unit, and they do not indulge in any sorts of rifts no matter whether the team is winning or losing.
Another rumour is that Michael Hussey and Michael Clarke have major issues between them and Hussey is not happy with the way Clarke is leading the team, but none other than Hussey himself has shot down these rumours. Hussey told
the media that Michael Clarke had the best cricketing mind in the national squad and he definitely deserves to lead the team in all the formats. Hurricane Hussey made it very clear that he was very comfortable under Clarke’s leadership, “I think he has got
a very, very good cricket brain. He understands the game very well, Understands the pressures of the game very well and I think he is learning all the time and who better to learn under than Ricky Ponting.” Hussey said.
