Michael Clarke accepts Pune Warriors’ IPL offer – Cricket News Update
After much deliberation over the Pune Warriors’ offer to play for them in the latest edition of the Indian Premier League, Australian skipper Michael Clarke has finally accepted it.

The managing director of the Sahara Adventure Sports Ltd confirmed the signing in a statement adding that the franchise was thrilled to have signed one of the world’s best cricketers. He hoped Clarke’s inclusion would boost Pune’s prospects in the just to
begin season five of the lucrative league.

Clarke, the 30-year-old middle-order batsman from New South Wales has been resisting the lucrative Indian Premier League since its inception in 2008, citing national commitments. Even in this year’s IPL players auction, held in Bangalore on February 6, 2012,
the Australian skipper had not forwarded his name for selection. However, he was approached by the Pune http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Warriors-c861 after seeking approval from the IPL's governing council and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-South-Wales-c823 right-handed batsman, who retired from T20 cricket in January last year to focus on Test and one-day cricket, has recently recovered from a hamstring strain he had sustained during the triangular Commonwealth Bank series at home. After
missing the one-day leg of the Caribbean itinerary, he is in West Indies these days to lead the side in the upcoming three-match Test series, starting at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown on April 7.
The latest edition of the Twenty20 league kicks off in Chennai on April 4 while http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 ends on April 27, which means Clarke will not be available to the franchise for the major part of the IPL .
