Despite Australia’s comprehensive 2-1 defeat at the hands of Pakistan recently, the Test and ODI skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758.
In the recently concluded three-match T20 series against Pakistan, in the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033, Australia faced a seven-wicket loss and a sensational super over defeat in the opening two games, losing not only the series, but also slipping momentarily behind Ireland on ICC’s T20 team rankings.
The mighty Aussies, however bounced back strongly in the third and final encounter to hand http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760.
Taking positives from Australia’s performance against Hafeez and his Men in Green in the third T20 at Dubai, earlier this week, Clarke was confident the side would do well to reach the tournament final in the upcoming T20 showpiece in Sri Lanka.
"Where are we ranked now?" Clarke asked media persons at http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-South-Wales-c823’ season launch on Thursday. "Hopefully we are not ranked there by the end of the World Cup," he added further.
Australia, the three-time ODI World Champions and the reckoning Test force of the past, are yet to win the global event in the shortest format of the game.

"It is different for the Australian team (to be ranked so low), but I guess it shows we have not performed as well as we need to in that form of the game,” said the 31-year-old middle order batsman. "We need to turn that around, and what better time than at the World Cup," he added further.
The mighty Aussies are scheduled to play two warm-up matches against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ireland-c751 at RPS Colombo, on September 19.
