http://www.senore.com/Cricket/PM-Siddle-c2197 for the 3rd Test against Sri Lanka – Cricket News Update
Australian Captain Michael Clarke believes that the new addition to his team's bowling arsenal, Peter Siddle, who comes in to replace the injured http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RJ-Harris-c2330, will need to bowl full length deliveries coupled with swinging ones, if the pacer seeks to make
good use of the new ball in the upcoming 3rd and final Test match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758, scheduled to be played at the Sinhalese Sports Club, Colombo, on Friday, September 16, 2011.
Siddle joins the Australian Playing XI roster with much responsibility on his shoulders since http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Harris-c61739 remained to be a potent attacking pacer for Australia, who delivered some major damage at the Sri Lankan batting roster during the preceding 2 Tests.
However, not just as an attacking bowler, but Siddle will also have to play a valuable role in assisting his fellow bowlers such as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Nathan-Michael-Lyon-c78822, who have been doing exceptionally well in the series so far.
Commenting on the matter, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Craig-John-McDermott-c51704 (Australia's bowling coach) has certainly made very clear - with the new
ball we needed to be bowling fuller, we needed to be giving ourselves a chance, and Sidds (Siddle) has done that”.
The skipper also added that he has been watching Siddle quite closely during the team’s net sessions and cited that he has noticed considerable improvement in his bowling.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120 also revealed that the Victorian bowler has the ability to swing the new ball away, and said that, “one of his greatest strengths and what he does naturally is bring the ball back in off the pitch to the right-handers or take it away from the left-handers.”
The Aussie Captain also commended Siddle for his fast bowling skills, citing that the pacer will be the right match to complement Johnson at the Colombo pitch.
For the upcoming match, Siddle will therefore have to keep his skipper’s word and confidence and must not let the opportunity go in vain, as the pacer will be coming in as a new ball bowler against one of the world’s finest batting talents, such as Kumar
Sangakkara and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DPMD-Jayawardene-c1397.
