Michael Clarke confident of hitting form again
The stand-in Australian captain has come under the scanner after a slump in his form. He was also alleged of not focusing on cricket and being involved in social networking sites and other things apart from cricket.
The stylish Australian batsman said that he will not stop using social networking sites until he gets orders from Cricket http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120 said that he will be ready for any analysis on his form but he wished that he had not been in such a situation.
Clarke has not been able to perform consistently for his team. In his past 12 innings, he has scored at an average of just over 20.
The 2010-11 Ashes series was also not a good one for Clarke and Australia as the team lost the series at home 3-1. Clarke remained out of form throughout the series and just managed one score of fifty-plus in the series.
Australian captain Ricky Ponting sustained an injury during the Perth Test and had to undergo a surgery on his left hand’s little finger. Due to the injury to Ponting, Clarke was handed over the responsibility to lead his team in the final Test of the Ashes
and the entire seven-match One Day International series against England.
The stand-in captain has done well for his team as a captain as he has led the Aussies to three consecutive victories over England in the ODI series.
Clarke also retired from Twenty20 cricket and decided to stay away from the Indian Premier League in order to regain his form and focus on national duty instead of anything else.
He said, “I'd like to make some more runs, I think everyone is well aware of that, it's stating the obvious. It is frustrating, any time you are not performing as well as you would like, you look for answers.”
The veteran Australian was also confident that he will regain his form. He said, “I have always said preparation is so important to me, so my training continues to be more important I guess than anything else at the moment. I'm confident if I keep doing
that, keep doing all the right things, I will make runs in the middle.”
Australia will take on England in the fourth match of the seven-match ODI series at Adelaide on 26 January, 2011. The hosts will be looking forward to continue their winning form and take the series by winning the next match.
